Brown County Women's Health (BCWH) was
incorporated June 11, 2012 in Ohio as a non-profit Limited Liability
Corporation (LLC).
BCWH spread its wings as a
result of Women's Services closing at the hospital in Georgetown,
OH. Since both physicians live in Georgetown, and had a
passion to continue caring for local women, they started this
non-profit OB/GYN practice. Drs. Patridge and Varnau together
have over 60+ years of experience in obstetrics and gynecology.

ALTA DOWNS,
MEDICAL ASSISTANT

I was
born in Adams County and have lived in southern Ohio for
most of my life. Traveled with my husband, Randy, when in
the USAF, but eventually moved back to Ohio because it is
home. We have raised 2 children who also continue to live in
Ohio with their families.
I have
worked in the medical field for 25 years. First as an office
manager and then becoming a registered medical assistant
through American Medical Technologists. I have worked in a
variety of fields from psychiatry, family medicine,
pediatrics and internal medicine, even doing outpatient
clinic at ACRMC. Now doing GYN at BCWH. I love assisting the
Docs whenever they needs an extra hand.
In my
spare time, besides trying to keep Randy busy during his
retirement at home, we enjoy gardening and pulling weeds out
of my flower gardens at home. We have 3 great dogs who keep
us busy, and 3 grandchildren who keep us hopping with their
activities.
